Metro Valencia – S3900

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), in April 1993, ordered to the Valencia plant (Albuixech) a supply of 18 metros type MRM for the line 3 of Metro Valencia.

FGV, in April 2000, contracted 18 additional intermediate trailers to operate with a MTTM composition, because of the increasing demand of this commercial service.
Main Characteristics
Basic unit constituted by 2 extreme motor cars and 2 intermediate trailer cars. The total length of the train is 60 meters Each motor car has 2 motor bogies and each trailer incorporates 2 trailer bogies.
The box of 2.550 mm wide and 15.000 mm in length is made of stainless steel and incorporates 2 doors in each lateral of the motor car and 3 doors in the trailer. It has air conditioning in the departments of travellers and the driver's cabs. The seats are made with anti-vandalism material and the inner anti-graffiti paint.

Bogies
The Bogies of metric gauge are two-motors with motors suspended and disposed longitudinally, primary suspension of the rubber-steel type and pneumatic secondary suspension.
The three-phase asynchronous motors of traction with continuous power in the axle of 164 KW for intermediate continuous voltage of 1250 V. Brake discs self cooled are disposed in a wheel axle (2 per bogie). Equipment of electro-pneumatic brake.

The bogie was developed from service-proven sub-systems to ensure optimum reliability. Special care was taken to minimize wheel wear and to ensure optimum passenger comfort and safety levels in the confined subway environment.
Electric equipment
  • The voltage is 1500 VDC.
  • Two auxiliary converters of 120 KVA with equipment charger of batteries.
  • Traction system constituted by three-phase ondulators, with equipment of regulation and control by microprocessor.
  • Automatic safety equipment for trains ATP and facilities for ATO.
  • Control and diagnosis equipment of auxiliary, equipment of megaphone and radiotelephony, anti-gliding and anti block equipment, announcer of stations, etc...
