History
In 1897 was founded Talleres Devis, which was the origin of today’s plant.By 1929, now under the name of Construcciones Devis, the Valencian workshop had positioned itself in the front line of construction of railway transport material. The company´s achievements are notable in the field of wagon repairs and it enters a phase of industrial expansion that makes it a national reference point.
The merge in 1947 with the Catalan company Material para ferrocarril y Construcciones gave rise to MACOSA (Material y Construcciones SA) and it was during this period that the company was consolidated as a supplier of railway rolling stock.
In 1989 the multinational known today as Alstom took control of the company and move to the modern Albuixech (Valencia) plant in 1997.
Throughout this long period more than one thousand locomotives of all types – steam, diesel-electric, electric and shunting locomotives and passenger rolling stock such as trams, metros, diesel and electric units, freight wagons and thousands of bogies have left the company for destinations throughout the world.
On 31 March 2005, Vossloh AG, one of the leading companies in the railway transport sector completed its purchase of the engineering and production unit, which was then renamed Vossloh España and which, because of its high level of technology and the experience of its human team, has consolidated itself as leader in the diesel-electric locomotives sector.
